Integration Competency Center – ICC can be defined as a management and coordination group for a set of related integration projects and activities that share and serve similar needs among all business areas. ICC can be established at various scales or levels within a division of a company or at the enterprise level.

  1. ICC provides the direction, control, optimization, consistency and long-term focus for the integration work. Moreover, it is responsible with different aspects of the whole integration effort.

  2. ICC brings manageability, communication and organization by coordinating integration projects with an overall vision of the desired results.

  3. In addition to supporting system integration as a core competency, ICC builds infrastructure of roles, processes, policies, systems and project management practices.

  4. ICC is a permanent part of the an organization responsible with managing system integration work and projects.

  5. ICC keeps-up with the emerging technologies that ease integration efforts.

At its core, ICC is a Shared Service.
